 Thursday, July 7th:
Post 28 Warriors - 17, Milford Red Sox - 3: The Post 28
Warriors defeated the Milford Red Sox last night 16-3 in Delaware
American Legion Baseball action in a game played at Indian River High
School.The Milford Red Sox scored in the first inning after Berry
singled and Kent smashed a double to the wall to drive him in.The Post
28 Warriors came back in the first to score 4 runs on five staight hits
to make the score 4-1.
The Post 28 Warriors bats expoded in the second inning sending 17 men to the plate scoring 12 runs on 8 hits .
Milford's Whalen blasted a towering home run in the third inning but it
would not be enough to overcome Warriors lead.Fabian McCray and Dallas
Milner's strong pitching held the Red Sox to three runs.Post 28
Warriors Aaron Bennett had four hits and scored three runs,Collier
Donald had three hits and three runs,Steve Ruggiere had three hits with
a home run , Tyler Dean had two hits and also scored three runs for the
Warriors.Milford Red Sox's Kent had two hits,Richard and Moore also had
hits for the Red Sox.
Middletown Post 25 - 13 Newark Post 10 - 1: Post 25 was led by Eric Peterson who pitched a complete game only
giving up 2 hits. Stan Zulkowski, Chris Doherty, Julius Ryland, Eric
Peterson and Pat Peterson each had 2 hits for Post 25. Post 25's Conner
Ashbee hit a solo homerun.
The Generals - 4, Stahl Post 30 - 2: Doubles - Gen: Morris Stahl - Don May
DeMitrius Morris had an RBI double and Corey Purnell had a 3-run HR for the Generals .
Sussex West Post 6 Patriots - 5, Spooner Post 17 - 3: The Post 6 Patriots fell behind Spooner Post 17 3-0 before their bats started up.
After Jared Boothman scored on a walk in the 2nd inning, Mike Schlitter
singled and scored on Jake Dimiterchick's double to left. Boothman
drove in Dimiterchick with a sacrifice fly to center, ending the
scoring for Post 17.
Then the Patriots started to hit. Jordan Stanley scored on Ryan
McCully's Sac fly in the 4th, followed by Nick Cooper scoring on Brady
Scott's single in the 5th, but in the sixth inning, the Patriots had
Jason Owens and Shane Ivory on 2nd and 3rd with no outs.
McDowell struck out Cooper, and got Tyler Absher to ground out to 3rd.
Caine Collins singled to left to score Owens, and Jordan Stanley looped
a ball down the right field line for a single, and two RBI's.
Brent McDowell had 7 strikeouts in a losing cause. Caine Collins got the win in relief.

Wednesday, July 6th:
The Generals - 4, R.C. DuPont Post 18 - 2: Smart offensive base
running and great defense led to a Generals 4 - 2 win Wednesday night
in the heat at Christiana High School field. Mike Bowerson
pitched a complete game for the Generals holding Post 18 to only 4
hits. Morente from RC DuPont Post 18 homered, 2 Generals -
DeMetrius Morris; Corey Purnell - doubled.

Stahl Post 30 - 17, DE Post 1 - 13:
Post 10 Newark - 12, Durney Post 27 - 3: Adam Pugh kept Durney
batters off balance giving up only two earned run on five hits pitching
a complete game. Tom Wise hit a 2 run Hr and Ty Warrington and Adam
Roch had two hits for Newark. Warrington tripled in the game. Durney's
Joe Bermingham went three for three with a rbi double.
Post 25 Middletown - 5, Delvets Post 1 - 4: Completion of game from June 16
Delvets Post 1 - 10, Post 25 Middletown - 8: Mike Laplante got a
bases clearing hit with 2 outs in the bottom of the 6th to give Delvets
the Win. Collin Cassidy came in to relieve starter John Miraglia in the
second inning and pitched 5 2/3 scoreless innings to pick up the win.
Doherty had 3 hits for Middletown while Mike Laplante and Jarad Carney
had 3 hits for Delvets.
Tuesday July 5th:
Post 25 Middletown - 13, The Generals - 6:
Head to head battle thru 5 innings with a tied baseball game.
Middletown Post 25 rallied in the top of the 6th inning to take a strong
lead and the victory.Winning Pitcher: Pat Peterson
Eric
Peterson went 4-5, Kyle Husni went 3-3, and Chris Doherty went 2-3 with
a homerun to lead the Post 25 offense. Matt Downey and Nate McGinnis
had 2 hits each for the Generals.
R.C. DuPont Post 18 - 13, Durney Post 27 - 11: completion of game started on June 2.
Durney Post 27 - 16, R.C. DuPont Post 18 - 7: A 19 hit
effort by Durney. Joey Bermingham started things off with a two run HR
in the first. Zack Cook went 4 for 4 Dan Tiberi, Tyler Hawthorne, Devin
Filliben added three hits each. Sam Goines, & Airiane Shankaras had
two hits also. Gregg Rostick had a solo HR for RC in seventh.
Delvets Post 1 - 5, DE Post 1 - 4: Kyle Menchaca
pitched a strong 6 innings giving up 4 runs only 2 earned with 8
Strikeouts to pick up the win. Jarad Carney came on in the 7th and gave
up singles to the first 2 hitters before getting Kevin Pepe to fly out
deep to left which advanced the runner to third. Evan Hughes then
popped up to the first baseman in foul ground and then Carney got Greg
Beran to line out softly to second to end the game and pick up the win.
Dave Biederman, Sean Newell and Kevin Pepe had 2 hits a piece for Post
1 while Andrew Jones and Mike Laplante had 2 hits for Delvets. Dave
Biederman came in and pitched 4 strong innings of relief for post 1
only giving up 1 unearned run.
Fox Post 2 - 8, Post 6 Patriots - 3: Fox Post 2 scored in 6 of the 7 innings they played Tuesday night to beat the Post 6 Patriots 8-3.
Zach Mawson provided some of the fireworks, batting 2 for 3 with a 370
ft home run into right center to lead off the 3rd inning with the score
tied 1-1. He also scored later in the game, an finished with 2 RBI's.
Stephen Barr also drove in 2 runs on sacrifice flies.
But Post 2 put the game out of reach in the fifth, with one out, Mitch
Moore reached 2nd on a double error and scored on Brandon Barber's
double. Todd Burger lined a single into left, scoring Barber and Kevin
O'Shea.
The Patriots answered with 2 runs in the bottom of the fifth, Kagen
Yossik and Ryan McCulley each drove in a run, but Post 2 put up one more
in the 6th and 7th innings, to finish the scoring at 8-3.
Kevin O'Shea got the win in relief of starter Tommy Dill. He did not
allow any runs, and struck out 5 in 1-2/3 innings of work. Taylor Bynum
took the loss for the Patriots.
Monday July 4th:
Stahl Post 30 - 3, Post 10 Newark -2: Stahl won in the bottom of the 7th at their annual 4th of July picnic.
Saturday, July 2:
Game 1: Post 28 Warriors - 2, Delvets Post 1 - 0: Wyatt Richardson threw a complete game shutout , striking out seven and
allowed only three hits to pick up his first win of the season.The game
was tied 0-0 untill the sixth inning when Jesse Long broke up the no
hitter that Delvets pitcher McHugh was throwing. Tyler Dean then smashed
a double to score long for the games first run.Eric Meyer then singled
in Dean for the final run of the game.The Delvets
pitchers McHugh pitched an outstanding game retiring the first nine
batter he faced.Carney,Manchacca and Jones had hits for the Delvets Post
1 .
Game 2: Delvets Post 1 - 16, Post 28 Warriors - 6: The Post 28 Warriors scored 5 runs in the first inning sending nine
batters to the plate with five hits.Post 1 Delvets game back in the
second inning to tie the game 6 -6 with 3 hits scoring four runs. Carney
hit a two run homer in the third inning and the Delvet never looked
back scoring nine more runs the final three innings to beat Post 28
Warriors 17-6. Carney , Laplante and Carney had two hits each for the
Delvets Post 1.Jesse Long and Tyler Dean each had two hits for the Post
28 Warriors.
Game 1: R.C. DuPont Post 18 - 12, Spooner Post 17 - 2 (5):
Game 2: R.C. DuPont Post 18 - 14, Spooner Post 17 - 4 (6):
Game 1: Post 10 Newark - 10, Post 6 Patriots - 0 (5): Post 10 scored early, putting up 2 runs as Ryan Vietri doubled then
scored followed by B. Murray who walked and scored on a passed ball.
The game settled into a pitching duel until the bottom of the 5th when
Post 10 starter Brady Scott started walking batters and the Post 10 bats
exploded with 3 triples (Vietri, Murray and Warrington). Vietri's 3 run
triple ended the game on the 10 run rule.
Brady Scott doubled for the Patriots in the game.
Game 2: Post 10 Newark - 20, Post 6 Patriots - 3 (5): The Patriots
used a combination of singles and walks to score 3 runs in the top of
the 1st, but it was all Post 10 the rest of the game. T.Wise stroked
the first of his 2 triples (he also had a double) that tied the game
Post 10 hit 5 Triples into the deep center field at Newark, Wise had 2,
Pikorski added 2 more and Ryan Vietri had the fifth.Wise also doubled,
as did Warrington and Hansen. Wise batted 3 for 4, scoring 4 times, and
driving in 3 more. Hansen and Vietri batted 3 for 3.
Post 10 pounded out 22 hits, and Post 6 added 5 errors.
Caine Collins and Shane Ivory both doubled for the Patriots.
