Thursday (6/24)So
far, Thor, the Norse god of Lightning and Thunder won all the games
Thursday, as a line of severe weather crossed Delaware between 5:30 and
7 PM. Sussex West at Fox Post 2 has been rescheduled to July 14th.
Other games will be made up once the teams get together on dates. Watch
the Schedule for changes
Delvets leads R.C. DuPont 16-15 in the 7th in a game called due to darkness that will be finished on July 17th.

Wednesday (6/23)
Fox Post 2 - 7, Lewes Post 17 - 2: Tommy Dill pitched 6 innings giving up 2 hits, one unearned run and had
10 k's for Fox Post. Zach Candeloro pitched the 7 th inning and added 2
k's.
Fox Post scored 4 runs in the first inning, with
Kevin O'Shea having a key two run double for Fox Post. Fox Post
continue to add on to their lead led by Dannt Gatto two hits, Gary
Jones 2 hits and 3 runs, Kevin O'Shea two doubles and 3 rbis.
For Post
17 Will Bayko hit a 2 run homerun in the top of the seventh inning.

Tuesday's (6/22) Games
The weather finally got to Legion Baseball Tuesday Night. Two games were postponed early, and another game didn't finish.
Sussex West Post 6 Patriots at Post 3 Milford Red Sox
Game 1 Continued from 6/3:
Post 6 - 4, Post 3 - 3: Post 3 had a 3-0 lead, which looked as if it was going to hold as George Michael
took the hill. for the Red Sox.
But Tyler Absher, Tyler Troyer, and Justin Allen changed that when
they started the 7th inning with a bit of hit and run and all ended
up scoring for Post 6. Justin Allen's single also drove in Absher, then
Allen and Troyer scored to tie the game on Jordan Stanley's single out
to right field, forcing extra
innings. Stanley stole second, but was caught stealing 3rd base, ending
the 7th inning threat.
Post 3 had runners on in the 8th and 9th but good fielding
stopped the Red Soix from scoring, With one out in the bottom of
the 9th inning after a
walk to Troyer, Post 6 put together one more hit and run with a single
by
Justin Allen and the walk off RBI, again to right field by
Jordan Stanley secured the Post 6 win for reliever Nick Cooper.
Game 2 was stopped because of lightning in the area after 4 innings - Milford has the lead 8-5,
VFW 3420 at Delvets Post 1 - Rained Out
Lewes Post 17 - 11, Sussex East Post 28 Warriors - 7: (5)
Game called in top of 6th due to lightning in the area. Because it was
an official game, stopped by weather, the win goes to Post 17.

Monday's [6/21] Games:
Post 25 Middletown 2, Stahl Post 30 - 1: This classic pitchers’ dual between two of Delaware’s best saw Chad Kuhl
(P25) throw a one-hitter with no earned runs, and Tyler Fortuna (S) strike out
nine batters. Post 25 got four hits
in the second inning, and put up two runs, answered by Stahl’s one
unearned run in the fourth inning.
Neither team scored again, capping off a quick game that took place in
just over 90 minutes.
Post 10 Newark - 13, R. C. DuPont Post 18 - 3: RC Dupont
scored early taking advantage of two Newark errors, but Newark came
back with five runs in the bottom of the first. Four RC walks and a
single by Tom Wise did most of the damage.
In the second Alex Woods led off with a double and Mike Medori followed
with a single to score Woods. after a sacrifice by Lincoln Lamberton,
Taylor Mahoney drove in the second run of the inning.
RC got on the board again in the fourth after Manalo reached on an
error and Kotula homered to left to score two. Newark stormed back in
their half of the inning scoring four more runs with two outs. Three
straight walks followed by a double by Kyle Hayman and singles by Pete
Broehl and Jake Milstead drove in the four runs. In the fifth Newark
closed out the scoring with a pair of hit batters followed by RBIs by
Lamberton and Hayman.
Adam Pugh picked up the win for Newark allowing three runs on five
hits. Pugh pitched out of a bases loaded jam in the second to help shut
down RC. Jake Milstead came in for Pugh in the fifth and retired all
three batters he faced.
VFW 3420 Christiana - 9 , Durney Post 27 - 5:
For the VFW, Dennis Massari got the win giving up 6 hits
while striking out 7. Dylan Oakes was 2 for 3 with a homerun and 4
rbi's and scored 3 runs.Matt Aleman was 3 for 4 with 2 doubles and 2
rbi's.
Zack Cook hit a 2 run HR for Durney Post

Sunday's Games:
Delvets Post 1 at Post 3 Milford Red Sox:
Game 1: Delvets 8, Post 3 Milford Red Sox 5:
Dewey pitched a great game with solid defense through 6 innings ( 3
K's) and had Laplantae come, in relief at the top of the 7th to
finish off the struggling Red Sox in the 7th.
Although Post 3's Hunter Whalen
struck out 7 through 5 innings his run support was not quite enough to
get the job done. Each team committed 4 errors, in the sweltering heat
of Sunday.
Game 2: Post 3 Forfeits: Due to circumstances beyond his control the Manager for
Post 3 had to forfit the second game of the day.
Sussex East Post 28 Warriors at R.C. DuPont Post 18: Postponed
to July 19 and 21st at Brandywine HS, 6 PM, due to a late injury to a
Post 28 player who was the 9th man on the roster for Sunday's game.

Saturday's 6/19 Games:
Durney Post 27 at Sussex West Post 6 Patriots:
Game 1: Durney - 3, Patriots - 1: The Post 6
Patriots struck first in the game. Jordan Stanley was hit by a pitch,
advanced to 2nd, and was sacrificed over to third by Tyler Troyer and
scored on a double hit by Chad Sturgeon. What the Patriots didn't know
was that was the last run they would score in both games.
Post 27 chipped away, scoring in the 3rd, 4th and 6th innings, while
Joe Filligan kept the Patriots off the scoreboard, pitching a 3 hitter,
with 3 strikeouts. Nick Cooper took the loss for the Patriots - giving
up just 2 earned runs, and striking out 3.
D.J. Miller tripled for Durney, Joe Filligan also doubled. Final Score was Durney 3, Patriots 1
.
Game 2: Durney 7, Patriots - 0: In the 2nd game, Durney's
Airiane Shankaris started the game reaching 1st base on an error, and
scoring. That was the only run Durney needed, as Dan Triberi no hit the
Patriots, striking out 9 but walking 3 and hitting 3 additional batters.
But the Patriot bats were cold, and Durney batted around in the 2nd
inning, scoring 5 runs. Zack Cook doubled in 3 runs during the inning.
Cook's double was the only extra base hit in the game.
Chat Sturgeon came in to relieve Hunter Absher in the 3rd and shut down
the Durney attack until the 7th, when Durney's T.J. Dulcelo scored on a
Kyle Maloney fielder's choice.
R. C. Dupont Post 18 at Spooner Post 27:
Game one :
RC -. 14. Spooner Post 4.Game lasted 5 innings. winning pitcher Andrew Cooper scattered
8 hits giving up only 2 earned runs. Losing
pitcher McDowell. Hunter McUgh was 3 for 3 with 3 rbis. Quentin Burslem went 3 for 4 with 4
rbis.
Game two
R.C.. 8, . Spooner Post 2:. Pitcher Kip Skibicki strikes out 10 giving up 3
hits and 1 earned run. Andrew Cooper went 1 for 3 with two rbis on a
triple. Hunter
McUgh went 2 for 4 with 3 rbis. Losing pitcher wasMmccoy
