Thursday Action!

Post 28 Warriors - 6, Fox Post 2 - 2: Cam Travalini held Fox Post 2 to five hits and only two runs. Sean Lewis led Post 28 with three hits. Matt Eskridge had a two run double and D.J. Long hit a two run homer in the 4th.

Post 3 Red Sox - 13, Post 6 Patriots- 3 (6): 7 Patriot errors led to 7 runs in the 3rd and 4 in the 4th. The Pats had 3 unearned runs in the first, but the Red Sox got 2 more in the 6th to end the game early. Julian Taylor doubled, Adam Darling and Johnny Michael tripled for Post 3.

Post 25 Middletown - 5, Newark Post 10 - 0: Brad Alexander and Eric Buckland combined pitching efforts for a shutout against Newark, while Post 25’s bats put up five unanswered runs, including a two-run shot in the first inning by Buckland.

Derek Marshallsean went 2 for 3 for Newark, including a double.

Durney Post 27 - 13, Delvets - 4: Suspended in the top of the 7th due to darkness. Will be finished next Wednesday.

R.C. DuPont Post 18 - 11, DE Post 1 - 1: R C Dpont had Home Runs by Julian and Rostick.

Stahl Post 30 -12, VFW 3420 - 1: Brandon Payne had a double and a triple with 2 RBIsand Billy White had a 2-run single for Stahl Post in a game ending after 5 innings.

Stahl Post 30 - 12, Delvets 1: D J wood had 3 hits with 3 RBIs, Alex Jeandell had 3 hits with 2 RBIs and scored 3 runs for Stahl Post 30. Dewey had a double and scored a run for Del Vets in a game called after 5 innings because of the 10 run rule.

Earlier in the day, the Delaware American Legion Baseball Committee accepted Stahl Post 30's bid to host the Delaware Legion State Tournament.

Tuesday's Games

Post 10 Newark - 8, DE Post 1 - 7: Ryan Vietri pitched four scoreless innings in relief of starter Derek Marshallsea to get his second win of the season. Rob Mooney was 2-4 at the plate with three runs knocked in including the winning RBI in the sixth inning and an outfield assist throwing out the potential go ahead run to end the fifth inning. Andrew Bentley contributed with a 2-3 night with 2 RBI for Newark.

D J Miller reached base five times for Post 1 including a two run Homer while Matt Francisco added a solo shot in the loss.

Stahl Post 30 - 17, Durney Post 27 - 7:
Stahl Post took advantage of Durney miscues in the 4th inning and was helped with a controversial call at the plate in the fifth. After the dust settled Durney tried to climb back in in with a 4 run rally in the fifth bringing the score back to 10-7.

Stahl Post Matt Sherman blew open the game in the sixth with a 3 run blast over the left center field fence, Stahl plated five runners in the inning. and added two more in the seventh. Stahl's D.J. Woon went 4 for 5 with a triple and double scoring 3 runs.Brendon Fallers was 3 for 3, and C.J. Craft hit a 2 run triple. Durney Posts Tyler Hawthorne had a bases loaded triple, and Sam Manelski went 2 for 3 with a double and 3 rbi's.

The win pushed Stahl to the top of the point count in the league.

R.C. Dupont Post 18 - 11, Atterbury VFW 3420 Christiana - 1:
B.J. Suter struck out 7 in the 5 inning win.

Post 25 Middletown - 6, Delvets Post 1 -  1: Chad Kuhl allowed only three hits over six innings for Post 25, hit a three-run homer and scored twice. Eric Buckland went 3 for 3, hit a solo homer for Post 25, and scored twice, while Ryan Haas went 3 for 4 with two RBI’s for Post 25. 

Mike Reardon and Kevin Czacharowski combined hits to bring in Jarad Carney’s run for Del Vets.

Fox Post 2 - 10, Post 3 Milford Red Sox - 2: Game called in the 7th inning - will be finished next week.

Post 28 Warriors - 10, Post 6 Patriots - 0 (FFT):

7 Run Inning Monday

Fox Post 2 - 14, Post 28 Warriors 5: Fox 2 had a seven run second inning.  Tony Gatto had a home run in the 2nd inning, while brother Danny Gatto hit a home run in the 5th inning. Joey Babuca went 4 for 5 for Fox Post 2.

Post 28 Tyler Dean hit his first legion home run.  Zac Moeser got his first legion hit.

Post 25 Middletown - 18, Post 3 Milford Red Sox - 5: Post 25 put up 7 runs in the first inning, and kept the lead throughout the game.  Adam Stein blasted a 3-run homer for Post 25 in the second inning, and went 2 for 3, scoring three times.  Johnny Micheal  hit 2 for 2 for Post 3, including a solo homer in the second inning.  Game concluded after five innings of play.


July 4th VFW vs Stahl

Stahl Post 30 - 16, Atterbury VFW Post 3420 - 4: Both teams got off to a good start - with Stahl up 1-0 after the first inning.

Then the scoring started: Atterbury put up all 4 of their runs in the top of the 2nd inning, 3 on a single by Chris Bianchino that finished with him on 3rd and 3 runs scored. As the game moved to the bottom of the 2nd, the VFW led 4-1.

Stahl then batted 12 batters, scoring 7 runs with two outs, in an inning where Matt Sherman tripled, D.J. Wood doubled, and Heath Johnson and Brandon Fallers all drove in runs. Stahl continued to score, racking up 3 runs in the 3rd and 5 in the 4th to take a 16-4 lead.

Post 3420 committed 6 errors in the game, adding to the 11 Stahl hits. Vinnie Latham got the win in relief for Stahl Post 30.
