Friday Makeup

R.C. Dupont Post 29 -  12,  Newark Post 10 - 2: Nolan Magee pitched a six inning complete game against Newark giving up two hits and striking out three. Quentin Burslem was 3-3 with a double stolen base and 2 rbis. Andrew Cooper was 2-4 with a double and 3 RBIs Kyle Anderson was 2-3 with one RBI.

For Newark KevinBentley doubled. The game was a makeup for the rainout Thursday.

Wednesday's Game

Fox Post 2 - 13, Post 3 Milford Red Sox - 3: Fox Post scored eight runs in the third inning on 8 walks and 2 run single by Tommy Dill and a 2 run Double by Danny Gatto. Fox Post scored 13 runs on 4 hits and 13 walks by Milford pitchers. Bobby Brown got the win, giving up 3 hits and 5k's.

Tuesday's Games

Post 1 10, Delvets 2: Post 1's Matt Loughead batted 3 for 4 with 2 RBI's and also turned an unassisted double play. Joe Wamba batted 2 for 4 with a double and 2 RBI's as Tom Crist allowed only 2 runs and scattered 5 hits with 2 strikeouts.

Post 6 Patriots at Post 28 Warriors - Called in the bottom of the 8th due to darkness. Will be finished before July 7th game at Indian River HS.

Post 25 Middletown - 11, Stahl Post 30 -  6: Post 25’s bats opened up in the second inning and remained unmatched by Stahl’s powerful offense.  Brad Alexander and Eric Husni each hit two-run homers, keynoting Post 25’s offensive barrage, while Eric Buckland went 4 for 4 on the night with a walk. Gabe Deascanis and Heath Johnson each had two RBI’s for Stahl.

Post 10 Newark - 7,  VFW Post 3420  Christiana - 4

Leadoff hitter Jeremy Varner reached base four times and scored three runs including a solo home run to lead Newark to a 7-4 victory over VFW Post 3420 Christiana. Brandon Boles (1-0) pitched four scoreless innings in relief of Kevin Eisner to get the win.  Christiana's Jeremy Jones was 2-3 for with a two run home run.

Saturday's [6/13] Games:

Milford Post 3 Redsox - 11, Devets Post 1 - 7: Game 1:
With Del Vets leading 6-3 in the top of the fifth inning, Milford scored eight runs highlighted by back-to-back home runs by Sam Grohovac (a three run home run) to tie the score at 6-6 and a solo homerun by Matt Millman to take a 7-6 lead that Milford did not relinquish.  David Michael pitched a complete game.

Game 2: Rained out

Durney Post 27 - 4, Post 28 Warriors - 6: Game 1:
Chris Ott homered for Durney Post 27.

Post 28 Warriors - 17, Durney Post 27 - 4: Game 2: Leading the way for Post 28: Bo Wilkinson two hits, two RBI. Also with two RBI D.J. Long and Kevin Guthrie. Chris Ott hit a home run for P27 as both teams dodged a severe thunderstorm that hit Roxanna.

DE Post 1 - 6, Fox Post 2 - 5: Game 1: Rob Jones pitched a complete game for Post One, with 7 K's. Alex Riley was 3 for 4 with a homerun in the 5th inning off Ron Rossi for Fox Post 2. Post One later scored a unearned run in the 6th inning off Danny Gatto to take a 6 to 5 lead and the game. For Fox Post Randy Hurd was 2 for3, Will Ross 2 for 4, and Derrick Parker 3 for 4.

Game 2 called due to lightning with DE Post 1 ahead, after 4 complete innings- will be finished if needed.

Newark Post 10- 6, Post 25 Middletown - 2:
Game 1: Post 10 took advantage of three fielding errors committed by Post 25 to chalk up three runs, then rallied for another three to take game one of a doubleheader. Jordan Oncay pitched a solid four innings for Post 10, giving up only one hit, with strong relief from Sam Farley to close out the game.

Newark Post 10 - 2, Post 25 Middletown - 0:
Game 2: This pitcher’s duel was decided by errors as Post 10 capitalized on two Post 25 errors to march in two runs. Derek Marshallsea pitched a shutout for Post 10, and Eric Buckland threw a one-hitter for Post 25, giving up no earned runs. 

R.C. DuPont Post 18 - 14, Post 6 Patriots - 4 (5 Inn):Game 1: R.C. Dupont Post 18 Aviators pounded out 13 hits, 6 of them doubles, to beat the Post 6 Patriots (0-3) in a 10 run rule game Saturday at Seaford.

Greg Rostick doubled 3 times for the Aviators and scored 4 times in the game. Andrew Cooper (3 for 3 with 3 runs scored and 3 RBIs), and Mike Julian 1 for 1 with 2 runs scored and 2 RBIs.
Nolan Magee got the win for the Aviators.

R.C. DuPont Post 18 - 9, Post 6 Patriots - 8: Game 2: Hunter Absher took the mound for Post 6 in the 2nd game and for a while it looked like a the Aviators were going to run away with the game, scoring 3 runs. But the Patriots came back in the bottom of the first with 2, and the game stayed close until the 6th inning when Post 18 scored 3 times to take an 8 - 4 lead.

The Patriots scored one in the bottom of the 6th to close to 8-5, and Post 18 scored one in the 7th to make it 9-5 with the Pats coming to bat.

the Aviator pitchers struggled with control, walking 6 batters, loading the bases, and allowing 3 runs to score before Hunter McHugh struck out the side to end the game.

Evan Kreshtool doubled twice, Mike Julian doubled once. B.J. Suiter batted 3 for 3 with a run scored. for Post 6, Eric Sharff batted 2 for 3 with 2 RBIs
