Post 25 Middletown - 10, R.C. DuPont Post 18 - 0
Saturday was a day Connor Stevens will set aside for the scrapbook as Stevens threw a 5 inning no-hitter in Post 25 Baseball's 10-0 victory over RC DuPont.
No RC DuPont batter was able to locate Stevens' pitches during the game as he struck out one batter and walked two while recording his momentous feat. He got Brady to ground out for the final out of the game.
Nine runs by the Post 25 offense in the first three innings helped Post 25 as well. An RBI double by Kyle Tomlin , a groundout by Dan Taylor, an RBI single by Stevens, and an RBI single by Chad Bell in the second inning fueled Post 25
Baseball's offense early. Stevens also racked up four RBIs on three hits for Post 25.
Jump took the loss for RC DuPont. He allowed 10 runs in 4 1/3 innings, walked five and struck out two.
Post 25 built upon its lead with five runs in the third. A error scored Matt Taylor to get Post 25 on the board in the inning.
Game 1: Delvets Post 1 - 7, Fox Post 2 - 5
Sean Deely picked up the win for Del Vets over Fox Post. Del Vets Timmy Parks 3 hits, Austin Coughinhour 3 hits, 2 rbi's and Matt Fullerton 2 hits, 2 rbi's. Brian Spangler, Travis Dill and Seth Brosius had two hits each for Fox Post.
Game 2: Fox Post 2 - 2, Delvets Post 1 - 0
AJ Johnson pitched one hit shutout for Fox Post in a 2 to 0 win in game two. Seth Brosius single in the bottom on 1st inning to drive in Brian Spangler. Lee Killen also had2 hits including a double for FoxPost. Matt Sheehan was the losing pitcher and Matt Fullerton 5th inning double was Del Vets only hit.
Stahl Post 30 - 7, Post 25 Middletown - 2
Tyler Newton to the win for Stahl, Post 25's Chad Bell had a 2 run home run, Stahl's Logan Gilbert also homered in the game.
Fox Post 2 - 4, Post 25 Middletown - 1
Conner Chasanov homered, and got the win for Fox Post 2 . Chad Bell batted 2 for 2 for Post 25
Stahl Post 30 - 7, Post 10 Generals - 3
Scoreless thru 4 innings in a well played game, Stahl put up the first run of the evening in the 5th inning off an RBI single by D Parker who scored M Hand who had doubled to centerfield. Stahl plated two more more runs in the top of the 6th inning with T Newton and T Novak both with doubles and a sacrifice bunt off the bat of A Marrs.
The Generals answered in the bottom of the 6th with A Reich reaching on a lead off walk and the Generals reaching base on a series of hits from M Cipolla, T Freeland, E Rowe, and CJ Morton. Going into the top of the 7th tied, Stahl took the lead when M Hand reached base on a walk and a sacrifice fly gave D Parker the RBI for the go ahead run with Stahl continuing to plate 3 more runs in the inning. Lance Gilbert pitched a complete game giving up 6 hits, 3 earned runs, walking only 1 and striking out 3 batters.
Delvets Post 1 - 17, DE Post 1 - 8
Ryan Bacher pitched five strong innings getting the win. Matt Fullerton hit a Bomb Home Run over the left field score board and also had a double. Timmy parks added another stellar night at the plate going 4 for 4 with three doubles. Shayn Linkhorst and Max Carney both had triples.
Durney Post 27 - 6, R.C. DuPont Post 18 - 4
In the top half of the 5th inning Durney committed two fielding errors which allowed RC Dupont to tie the game. Durney answered in the bottom of the 5th with three runs to regained the lead on a bases loaded double by Matt Trincia. Kyle Phillips got the complete game win.
Post 6 Patriots - 18, Post 3 Milford - 1
The Patriots pounded out 10 hits and took advantage of 4 Milford errors, plus 9 walks and 5 hit batsmen to beat Milford at a game in Seaford Thursday.
Eric Wharton struck out 5 and only allowed 1 run on 4 hits to get the win.
Cody Wilkerson singled and doubled in the 2nd Inning, driving in 3 runs. He scored 2 runs in the game and finished with 4 RBI's. Kole Hearn batted 2 for 4 with 3 RBIs, and Justin Gray scored twice, batted 2 for 2 and drove in 2 runs as well.
Milford's only run came in the top of the 5th when Joe Lust walked to lead off the inning and scored on Shawn Snowden's single to left. Snowden was 2 for 3 in the game.
Stahl Post 30 - 3, Post 25 Middletown - 1
Brandon Walter pitched a complete game with 6k's for the win in a tightly played game at Wilson Field
Delvets Post 1 - 4, R.C. DuPont Post 18 - 3
John Harris pitched a gem to allow to get a come from behind 4-3 win in the bottom of the 7th. Timmy parks drove in the tying and game winning runs with a base-hit to right field. Harris got the win and went the distance
Fox Post 2 - 13, Milford Post 3 - 0
In 5 inning Fox Post beat Post Three 13 to 0 with Brian Spangler and Seth Brosius combining to pitch a no hitter. Fox Post had 17 hits with Lee Killen 3 hits, and Conner Chasanov, Nick Spadafino, Seth Brosius, Sean Pool, Andrew Mace 2 hits each.
Severe Thunderstorms are crossing the peninsula between Smyrna and Wilmington at 4 PM. All of the games for tonight were postponed.
All games were rained out and will be made up later this week or early next week.
Post 25 Middletown - 10, DE Post 1 - 8
Fans were treated to a high-scoring affair Sunday as Post 25 outscored DE Post One 10-8 in seven innings as the two teams combined for 18 hits in the game.
The teams traded runs for most of the contest, leading to six lead changes in the game. The bottom of the first saw Post 25 take an early lead, 2-0. The attack began with a single from Stevens. Matt Taylor singled, plating Shane Horn. Post 25 then added more runs when Stevens scored on an error.
Post 1 pushed across four runs in both the second inning and the fifth. In the second, Post one scored on a walk by S, scoring P Harris. But Post 25 pushed across three runs in both the second inning and the fourth. In the second, Kyle Tomlin scored on a passed ball.
Post 25 eventually pulled out the win thanks to a strong fifth inning as they took the lead for good on a two-run single by Shane Feehery off Z Swain, scoring Connor Stevens and Brock Long. Stevens boosted his batting average thanks to a perfect 2-2 day at the plate to pace Post 25 Baseball. He singled in the first and fourth innings.
Garrett Maniatis recorded the win for Post 25 even though he allowed eight runs over five innings. He struck out six, walked one and surrendered eight hits. Post 25 closer Jake Bertelson put away the final six outs to record the save.
Game 1: Post 6 Patriots - 5, Durney Post 27 - 3:
Durney took a first inning 2-0 lead on Tyler Lasako's 2 run double. The Patriots answered in the 3rd as Caine Collins singled and eventually reached 3rd with one out on a throwing error. Kole Hearn drove in Collins on fielding out, but the Patriots' took the lead in the 4th as they scored 2 more runs on a stolen base, a wild pitch, a ground out and a balk.
Durney answered back in the 5th, when with 2 outs, Moses Reyes drove in Brittingham. The rally was stopped by heads up play from center field, as they threw out the trailing baserunner to end the inning.
Cole Collins tripled to lead off the 6th and scored on a wild pitch and Trent Hearn scored on Kole Hearn's RBI single in the 7th. Tyler Lasako doubled for Durney.
Bruce Mosley got the win for the Patriots, Cole Collins got a save. Kyle Phillips took the complete game loss for Durney.
Game 2 Post 6 Patriots 14, Durney Post 27 - 6
Caine Collins led off the 1st inning with a first pitch double and scored along with Trent Hearn on Kole Hearn's 2 RBI reach on an error.Durney answered in the bottom of the first with a score from Brittingham, and then Kyle Phillips from Moises Reyes RBI infield out.
The Patriots batted around in the 3rd, hitting 5 singles, scoring 3 and leaving the bases loaded. Cody Wilkerson, Bruce Mosley and Trent Hearn had RBIs in the inning.
Durney got out of another jam in the 4th, turning an outfield to infield double play, then took the lead with a 4 run outburst that featured an RBI double from Chance, then a 2 RBI single by Kyle Cox and Durney led 6-5.
But the Patriots struck back as Tony Guinta slammed a 2 run home run out into left field. The Pats again loaded the bases after the homer, but Mosley flied out to right to end that threat.
The game continued as Trent Hearn held Durney scoreless in the 6th, then stroked a 2 run home run of his own in the 7th to extend the lead. The Pats then loaded the bases again, with Tyler Banning driving in one run then Bruce Mosley singled to drive in 2 more. When the scores were totaled, the Patriot had put up 7 runs, and taken a 14-6 lead. Cole Collins came in for another inning of relief and got out of the game after a Outfield-Infield double play ended the game at the plate.
Kole Hearn had a so-so 5 inning outing on the mound, but pitched well enough to leave with the lead to get the win. Trent Hearn and Cole Collins pitched one scoreless inning each in relief. Matt Trincia took the loss in relief for Durney.
Game 1: Delvets 13, Post 3 Milford - 0 (5)
Matt Shehan went the distance, tossing a 4-hitter with 8 K's. Delvets got 11 hits throughout the game along with 4 walks,and was aided by 5 Milford errors leading to 7 unearned runs. Matt Smith lead the offense going 3 for 4 with a triple and 3 RBIs. Sean Deely was 2 for 2. For Milford, William Kimmel was 2 for 3 with a double and Jan Parson was 2 for 3.
Game 2: Delvets 11, Post 3 Milford - 0 (5)
Delvets won 11-0 in 5 innings versus Milford in Game 2 of the double header. Delvets scored 6 runs in the first on 3 hits and 4 errors which led to 4 unearned runs to take the early lead and then followed that up with 5 more runs in the 5th (2 unearned) to secure the victory. Delvets had 9 hits and were paced by Tim Parks who was 3 for 4 with a double, John Harris who was 2 for 4 with 2 doubles. Austin Caughlichour also had a double. Matt Smith tossed a complete game 1 hitter with 3 K's. Curtis Reed broke up the no-hitter when he led off in the bottom of the 5th on a seeing eye single as the ball squirted under the 3rd baseman Chris Scorzello's glove as he ranged hard to his left and the ball rolled through the 5-6 hole just into the outfield.
