Let the Delaware American Legion Baseball Hot Stove League begin....

Newark just couldn't recover from a 4 hour game followed by a 11 hour turn around as they imploded in the 3rd and 6th innings in a game called on the 10 run rule after 7 innings. The final score was 18-2 in favor of Gaithersburg, Maryland.

The loss ends Newark's season, one where they finished 17-9 during the regular season, then won the State Championship in a double header where they scored 18 total runs. Thursday night's marathon featured 3 home runs by Newark batters, but shakey pitching doomed them to the Loser's bracket.
